21st Century Skills

Image-1 (1)

According to the Partnership for 21st Century Skills (P21), a framework was created to help students learn essential skills for success in today’s world. These are known as the 21st Century Skills. “Learning and innovation skills increasingly are being recognized as those that separate students who are prepared for a more and more complex life and work environments in the 21st century, and those who are not. A focus on creativity, critical thinking, communication and collaboration is essential to prepare students for the future.”  This page will contain links that will help instructors incorporate creativity, communication, collaboration, and critical thinking into their courses.

One thing that is important for instructors to understand is the SAMR Model.

“SAMR, a model designed to help educators integrate technology into teaching and learning, was developed by Dr. Ruben Puentedura, Ph.D.. The model aims to enable teachers to design, develop, and integrate digital learning experiences that utilize technology to transform learning experiences to lead to high levels of achievement for students.”
